Below are some examples of past classes:

New Watercolour Class

Fall Session : Wednesday evenings, 6 to 9 pm.

Start on September 30th. for SIX WEEKS to November 4th. 2015

Classes are ideal for beginners and intermediate watercolour painters.
There will be three set projects to cover the fundamentals of painting in watercolour. Each project will be introduced with a presentation and demonstration one week and completion of the project during the second week class.
Different subjects and aspects of painting will be explored, including:
Composition, paint manipulation (washes, transparency etc.), papers, masking and colour mixing, perspective and sketching/drawing for painting.
We will work with subjects that offer the most opportunity to learn important aspects of each topic. Instructor is experienced artist and art educator.
Small classes in well equipped space.

Cost is $10 per hour = $180 payable at first class by cash or cheque.
Materials not included: List of basic materials required will be supplied on registration or inquiry. Some may be available from instructor.

Classes will include workshop/demonstrations and free work with individual instruction by professional artist/art educators. The list of topics for each course will be decided with student input at first class.

Topics covered: Colour/paint mixing; Composition and Design; Paint Application using different tools such as palette knife, scrapers, squeegees and sponges; Surface Preparation, Grounds and Underpainting; choice of Subject; Drawing for Painting; Observational work from life and from photographs and sketches; Portraiture; Group Critiques

Learn to draw with a variety of materials such as: pencils; pen, brush and inks; charcoal; markers; water colours; pastels and crayons and alternative media. Develop techniques and skills including: figure proportion and portraits, perspective, linear perspective, mark-making, shading, and composition.

Small classes (max.10, min.2) in a well-equipped art space.
“Adult” is 16 to 95 for these classes, exceptions may be made for people over or under these ages.

Cost is $10.00 per hour, so $400 for 40 hour course, $300 for 30 hour course
Payment by cash or cheque (postdated cheques accepted)
