About

Clarke Art & Projects is the joint project of artists Ann Clarke and Ben Darrah. The main focus of Clarke Art & Projects is The Newburgh Gallery – a gallery and workshop space in Newburgh, Ontario, Canada. The gallery is housed in a 150+ year-old historic building that has been converted into a contemporary exhibition space and art centre. The gallery held a grand opening at the end of August, 2014, which featured paintings and works on paper by Ann Clarke. These works were all created as rewards for the Indiegogo campaign that raised funds for the gallery renovation.

A gallery space in a rural area is a hub of creativity. It is a community gathering place for creative workshops for children, teens and adults. It is a space for artist talks, exhibition openings, social soirees, and innovative workshops. It is an organic cultural contact zone that dramatically changes a small town, allowing creative connections to flourish and expand throughout the region!

Please visit the current exhibition, past exhibitions, upcoming events, and classes and workshops pages for more information about the exciting activities happening at Clarke Art & Projects. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will email you back. We love discussing our plans for the space and the activities possible therein, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Here is a map so you can find us.

See you at the next Opening Reception!
